Driver of one vehicle flees scene of crash - The News-Press

A hit and run crash Saturday afternoon left a Fort Myers teen in critical condition in Lee Memorial Hospital. A report from the Florida Highway Patrol said that Kevin Gonzale, 18, of Fort Myers, was driving a 1995 Toyota Tacoma east on Palm Beach Boulevard approaching I-75 at a high rate of speed for traffic conditions. Three other vehicles, a 1995 Lexus ES200, a 2002 Toyota Tundra, and a 2005 Toyota Tundra, were also eastbound on Palm Beach near I-75. Due to his speed, the FHP said Gonzales was unable to avoid striking the rear of the Lexus and then overturning... The Lexus was pushed into the front of the 2005 Tundra and ran off the road and into a palm tree in the median. The driver of the 2002 Tundra, Garry Ireland, 43, of Fort Myers, the driver of the 2005 Tundra, Ramon Baudier, 43, of Fort Myers, and a passenger in the 2005 Tundra, Elizabeth Baudier, 40, of Fort Myers, were not hurt.
