Motorcyclist died after crash with truck - The News Journal
A motorcyclist who crashed Tuesday with a pickup truck near Georgetown has died, state police said Friday. The pickup driver, Joseph M. Rose, 33, of Georgetown, was treated at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital then released with non-life-threatening injuries, Fournier said. The crash was reported about 7:45 a. m. at County Seat Highway (U. S. 9) and Asbury Road. Rose was driving a 2011 Toyota Tundra westbound on County Seat Highway as Giorgi drove a 2005 Kawasaki R650 motorcycle eastbound on the same road. As the men approached the intersection with Asbury Road, Fournier said the Tundra tried to make a left turn onto Asbury Road. The motorcycle, which was traveling on the shoulder of the road passing a number of vehicles stopped in traffic, collided with the front bumper of the truck, ejecting Giorgi. Giorgi, who was wearing an approved DOT helmet, was taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital before being transferred to Christiana Hospital where he died around 4:30 a. m. Friday, Fournier said.
