The track will stage events in two major series: the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series WinStar World Casino 400 on Friday night and the Verizon IndyCar Firestone 600 on Saturday night. Juan Pablo Montoya, 39, holds a 21-point lead in the IndyCar standings. “Look at me and Helio [Castroneves] and Montoya,” said Tony Kanaan, at age 40 the oldest full-time IndyCar racer, in a telephone conversation Monday. Montoya never expected to be racing at this advanced age. He anticipated retiring at about age 35, after a successful run in Formula One racing. Montoya won seven Formula One events in 94 races but did not stop there. He jumped to a full-time ride in NASCAR Sprint Cup competition with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2007 and struggled for seven seasons. Montoya had two wins in 252 Cup starts with Ganassi. The return to IndyCar last season, in the Chevrolet-powered No. 2 of Team Penske Chevrolet, brought Montoya back to life. Source: www.dallasnews.com
