New ‘GD’ diesel engine The Innova diesel is likely to trade its 2. 5-liter diesel engine for the all-new 2. 4-liter ‘GD’ diesel engine, which produces 150 PS and 400 Nm of torque on the 2016 Fortuner. Diesel AT to be offered Keeping in mind the growing demand for an automatic transmission, the new Innova will pack a 6-speed torque converter for the diesel variant, though the standard gearbox would be a 6-speed manual unit. TKM (Toyota Kirloskar Motor) made dual front airbags standard on all variants of the Innova (on all other models as well) earlier this year, though the new 2016 Innova will get advanced safety features.
