Diane Allen is Nissan's design chief, a 30-year veteran of the company, and the person in charge of styling the all-new 2016 Nissan Titan pickup . But we're here to find out how you go about redesigning a truck that hasn't changed since 2002. . We gathered your questions on Facebook, and asked Diane to explain the new truck's design. R&T: Where did you start with this new design. Diane: What we wanted to do was, we wanted a whole new look that's fully capable, full size, no doubt about it. We needed to give it more of a power feel. The nose of this XD is 175 mm longer, 85 mm higher than today's Titan. R&T: Did you want to make it look like a diesel truck. Diane: We wanted to make it look like a true work truck. We've always been a play truck, but with this design we wanted to honor the new power and capability. R&T: Some folks see a resemblance to the Ford F-150 in the new Titan. This was designed and pretty much done before the Ford was revealed. Source: www.roadandtrack.com
