Woman walking dog dies after being struck by truck in Harpswell - WCSH-TV

HARPSWELL, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A woman was killed just a few steps away from her home in a car crash Wednesday morning in Harpswell. Police said 75-year-old Rita Douglas was walking her dog along Harpswell Island Road Wednesday morning when a 2012 Nissan Titan pickup truck ran into them. Police said the driver of the truck is 16-year-old Isabella Slocum, also from Harpswell. Traffic along the road near the intersection of Mountain Road was down to one lane while emergency crews were on scene. Farmer said Douglas was born in Germany and met her husband, Robert Douglas, while he was based there in the military. Police have not said whether Slocum will face charges. Source: www.wcsh6.com
