Tailgate thieves caught on camera - KENS 5 TV
SAN ANTONIO -- Thieves were caught on a surveillance camera stealing a tailgate off a truck on the far-west side. "Sure enough, I see a Nissan Titan, I think it was, pull up and one guy get out and get the truck bed off," Fuller said. Fuller said the cost of replacing the tailgate for his neighbor isn't the worst part. He said his neighbor is disabled and she used the truck to carry her wheelchair. "Insurance sometimes doesn't even cover them because it's so expensive," Reyes said. Reyes said the best way to protect yourself from getting your tailgate swiped is to get your dealership to install a lock. In addition to getting a lock installed, it is recommended that you park the end of your truck against a building wall to make it more difficult for thieves to take off the tailgate.
