The male driver of a pickup truck was in custody Saturday morning after a hit-and-run crash in Canoga Park left one motorcycle rider dead and another in critical condition, police said. A caller reported the collision about 3:40 a. m. at the intersection of De Soto Avenue and Saticoy Street, said Detective Bill Bustos of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division. Investigators determined that a black Nissan truck was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed on Saticoy when it veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a motorcycle that was making a left turn, Bustos said. The truck’s windshield was damaged and its front grill was recovered at the scene, Bustos said. A debris field later led to the vehicle and the truck driver, who was being questioned by investigators, police said. Source: ktla.com
