2013 Toyota Tacoma Limited Review and Road Test - Carpages.ca (blog)

’ In the interest of setting the record straight, that doesn’t mean I hate trucks. it just means that 99. 99 per cent of the time I’d prefer to be behind the wheel of a car and not some heavy, thirsty, dynamically inept hulking beast. I didn’t say 100 per cent of the times because I see the value that trucks inherently bring to the table. They can tow things behind them, usually over long distances. For the most part, they can do a lot and can carry a lot of stuff. You don’t need a truck for most of that stuff. It’s always kind of annoyed me when I see a fellow motorist using a top-flite diesel-powered heavy duty truck to pick up groceries, or a made-for-the-trails edition (with huge knobby tires and a winch, naturally) to fetch the kids from soccer... There are merits for the availability of a smaller truck, meaning you get all the benefits of the full-size benchmarks, just scaled down to fit a more mainstream environment–you know, the one that most of us live in. A V8 underhood would be a bit... It’s mated to a five-speed automatic that sends power rearward unless you instruct the electronic transfer case to send it to all four corners. Source: www.carpages.ca
