Jeep Offers JK-8 Pickup Truck Conversion for Wrangler Priced at $5499 - Automobile Magazine

Jeep Wrangler owners are particular people: they purchase Wranglers by the thousands because they want to take friends and supplies and combine them in a car that can climb a small mountain. But for people who want a couple fewer friends and a bit more supplies, Jeep has introduced the JK-8 conversion package that can transform the Wrangler Unlimited into a pickup truck. We’ve previously reported on the kit, but it now has a price tag: $5499. The JK-8 kit is available for purchase at any Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or Ram dealership, where it can also be installed. The kit was announced and demonstrated at this year’s Jeep Moab Safari , where engineers managed to convert a Wrangler Unlimited to a Wrangler Unlimited JK-8 pickup in about an hour in front of a small crowd. The look, Jeep says, is inspired by the 1981 CJ-8 Scrambler, which was popular until it was replaced in 1986 by the Comanche pickup. Jeep might be on its way to producing a new pickup truck (finally), but for the time being this is this closest you’ll get. Source: www.automobilemag.com
