Head to head: direct competitors fighting for Canadian sales in 2015 - Autofocus
3-Series is Canada’s top-selling premium brand automobile. But now the 3-Series lineup is split in two, with two-door models (and one of the family’s two four-door hatchbacks) falling under the 4-Series banner since late 2013. As a result, 3-Series sales aren’t quite as healthy-looking as they once were. Combined, the 3-Series and 4-Series are up 20% to 8487 units through the first seven months of 2015. Let’s face it, the C-Max was late to the party. Toyota has been selling the Prius in one form or another since the late 90s. The C-Max arrived in Canada in hybrid-only form in the fall of 2012. Even setting aside the fact that Toyota also sells other variants of the Prius, both C and V, the... Chevrolet assembled the fourth-generation Camaro in Quebec and this fifth-gen model in Ontario. But it’s the U. S. -built Mustang that sells more often in Canada, while the Camaro (until recently) typically outsells the Mustang in America. In fact, with Camaro sales falling as the sixth-gen model approaches, the Dodge Challenger is the better-selling Mustang alternative in Canada. But the CX-3, which arrived in Canada at the end of May, and the HR-V, which arrived at the end of June, are taking the idea to the mainstream. Already, the HR-V and CX-3 are selling more often than rivals from Buick, Chevrolet, Jeep, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, and Subaru ever have. Source: www.autofocus.ca
