Mizzou's Brantley out for entire season - STLtoday.com

Lots of notes and quotes to pass along, but first …. Gary Pinkel confirmed that defensive lineman Harold Brantley will miss the entire 2015 season after suffering injuries in a car accident last month. Brantley has already undergone surgery for a broken leg and will need further surgery on his left knee in the coming weeks. “He’s in good spirits,” Pinkel said. He got hurt in many, many ways. He’s not going to play this year but we certainly expect him to get back, get going. He’s going to go through tough times, naturally. He’s very, very disappointed. We’re going to miss his leadership, his play. “He can get 100 percent healthy and be a great player and still accomplish all his goals and graduate,” Pinkel added. With Brantley out of the picture, Pinkel said Josh Augusta and Rickey Hatley will have to pick up the slack. Hatley was ahead of Augusta on the depth chart coming out of spring practices. “We expect them both to have great years,” Pinkel said. That could mean new defensive coordinator could opt for more three-man defensive lines, as he used prominently the last three years at Memphis. Logan will have to be part of the D-tackle mix, too, Pinkel said. Source: www.stltoday.com
