"Complainants allege an internal failure of the steering gear box results in a loss of steering capability," said NHTSA in its description of the problem. Federal safety regulators say they have received five complaints alleging an internal failure of the steering gear box resulting in a complete loss of steering control in 2008 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks.
