Driver, 86, killed when vehicles collide near Mount Pleasant - MLive.com
CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP, MI — An 86-year-old Mount Pleasant man was killed when the car he was driving collided with a pickup during heavy rainfall, police say. 19, at the intersection of East River and South Shepherd in Isabella County's Chippewa Township. A 2006 Ford 500 sedan driven south by Mitchell Jacque, 86, of Mount Pleasant, and a 2005 Ford F-350 pickup driven by Justin Wheeler, 27, of Mount Pleasant, collided at the intersection. Jacque stopped at the stop sign and proceeded into the intersection, when his vehicle was struck broadside by the pickup that was headed west on River Road, police said. Jacque was killed in the crash, the Isabella County Sheriff's Department said. Neither vehicle was carrying additional passengers, police said. Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police, Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Fire Department, Shepherd Tri-Township Fire Department, Mobile Medical Response (MMR) and Isabella County Central Dispatch assisted the sheriff's department.
