26 : At 2 p. m. , police received a report of a hit-and-run accident involving a parked car in the Wartburg College F lot behind Joe’s Knight Hawk. The owner of a 2013 Nissan Rogue parked his vehicle in the lot at around 1 p. m. and later returned to find minor damage along the rear passenger side. 27 : At 3 p. m. , police responded to a two-vehicle accident involving a parked vehicle in the Kwik Star West parking lot. She sideswiped a parked and unoccupied 2005 Mercury, model not available, on the rear passenger side, causing minor damage to both vehicles. , police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Home Boulevard and West Bremer Avenue. Michael Andrew Berardi, 20, of Des Moines, was driving westbound in a 2010 Ford F150 and pulling a flatbed trailer in the left lane while Susan Kay Lahr, 47, of Waverly, was in the right lane also westbound in a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer. Berardi then made a lane change, and the trailer contacted the Blazer, tearing off the side mirror. Police determined that Berardi was at fault for an improper lane change, though he was not cited for it. There were no injuries, and no damage to the F150 or trailer.
