What is it. Well it’s a bakkie obviously, they’re not exactly the most complicated pieces of kit out there but is it just me or have they been getting awfully expensive these days. That’s quite a pill to swallow considering it’s essentially an engine, cabin and a load bay with very few creature comforts thrown into the deal. The new Isuzu KB could possibly change that, however its traditionally industrial routes could let it down overall as a passenger vehicle. Honestly this is probably the weakest point of the Isuzu KB Double Cab. Sure it’s not exactly ugly, but it’s not particularly distinctive either and amongst distinguishing competition such as the ever present Toyota Hilux and the now rather magnificent Ford Ranger, the Isuzu KB Double Cab rather falls back amongst the... As mentioned above, there will be many who remember the interiors of old Isuzu KB’s as being a ticket to the back benchers, stuffed pull of old girders and seats made from church pews. Not so any more, with the interior bringing itself screaming into the here and now, matching the opposition quite comfortably. Seats are good, providing plenty of support and a decent amount of comfort, while the driving position itself doesn’t suffer from typical van syndrome and means it’s quite easy to spend hours behind the wheel without taking strain.
