Officers found a 1992 Ford Ranger with its engine running and lights on. An unresponsive 33-year-old Lincoln Park man, who smelled of alcohol, was slumped over the driver’s seat. He was taken to Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital for treatment and ticketed for disorderly conduct/public intoxication. An 18-year-old Detroit man was arrested at about 9:30 a. m. Aug. 7 after police were dispatched to Oak and Fifth streets concerning a man in a silver vehicle following him. The driver of that vehicle, a 39-year-old Wyandotte man, waved at police and pointed to the Detroit man, stating that he had just stolen his cell phone and jewelry from his house. He resisted officers and at one point opened the rear door of the Wyandotte man’s vehicle, got inside and told him to drive away. As an officer held him, the man reached into his pocket, removed an iPhone and handed it to the Wyandotte man. The victim described the Detroit man as a friend who was at his house earlier that morning so he could be driven to a court appointment, but the man was upset because he missed his original court date.
