On July 28, deputies discovered 29-year-old George Austin Jones, address unknown, during a safety checkpoint at the intersection of Hwy. The passenger, later identified as Jones, was allegedly lying on the back seat attempting to cover his face with his hat, Tucker said. Through their initial investigation of the case, deputies discovered Jones’ identity and took him into custody for previous arrest warrants, Tucker said. The Picayune Item reported on July 9 that Jones was arrested on July 2 for his alleged involvement in two commercial burglaries. Deputies arrested Jones on July 2 after receiving a tip from an eyewitness who reportedly saw Jones burglarizing a business. After he made bond, he allegedly fled from the local bonding company in a stolen 2013 Ford F-150 at 51 Pine Grove Rd. , and headed to New Orleans, La. , Tucker said in a previous story. At the July 28 stop, deputies also arrested the driver in the Chevy Malibu, 37-year-old Nathan Kritzman of 47 A. Roy Rd. after discovering marijuana and stolen tools inside the vehicle, Tucker said.
