In terms of wide receivers, that’s what the “Mountain State” represented for the Rams in this NFL draft. Twenty-four hours after selecting West Virginia wide receiver Tavon Austin at No. 8 overall, the Rams doubled up by taking Mountaineers teammate Stedman Bailey in the third round Friday at No. 92 overall. “We had them on the board based on their grades — not based on what school they attended,” coach Jeff Fisher said with a smile. “Our (coaching) staff has already gotten several calls from clubs that are a little disappointed that were right behind us. ”. Bailey’s pass-catching numbers were even better than that of Austin last year for West Virginia: 114 catches for 1,622... Bailey, remember, also was part of that private workout a week ago in Morgantown that included Austin. Obviously Bailey just wasn’t along for the ride at that workout. “Going to that private workout, hearing what our quarterbacks said about this kid (Bailey). Quarterbacks Kellen Clemens and Austin Davis both threw that day, under the watchful eye of Fisher and the rest of the Rams contingent. Like Davis, Bailey also made a pre-draft visit to Rams Park, although not on the same day as Austin. “That was about two days before they came to Morgantown to work me and Tavon out,” Bailey said on a conference call Friday with reporters.
