Marion County sheriff's detectives pulled over a Hyundai Santa Fe on U. S. 441 in Summerfield Saturday evening and arrested the driver on drug trafficking,. After a police dog alerted on the vehicle, detectives reported finding a Mason jar filled with 1,258 pills of MDMA, also known as ecstasy, according to a Sheriff's Office news release. The driver, Thomas Petrick, 26, was arrested on the following charges: trafficking in illegal drugs and two counts of use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Ocala police officers have arrested a man who accused of stopping a vehicle and pretending to be a Marion County sheriff's deputy on Friday. Kristopher Edward Krumm, 27, of Ocala, was arrested Sunday night on charges of falsely impersonating a law enforcement officer, false imprisonment and prohibited use of certain lights. Thinking it was a law enforcement officer, the man said he stopped. The driver said Krumm was wearing a faded green shirt, looked “dirty” and had no identification, the OPD report states. Krumm, the driver said, told him he had cut him off in the parking lot. The driver said Krumm didn't show man any identification but claimed to be a sheriff's deputy, according to the OPD report.
