Fun Daze a big blast in Bangor - La Crosse Tribune

The Bangor Lions Club’s annual Fun Daze celebration isn’t only about fun. At last weekend’s festivities, Bangor veterinarian and current Lions Club treasurer Tom Filla was announced as this year’s winner of the Lion of the Year Award, and according to Lion’s Club member Brian Berg, the award was “well deserved. “The Lions Club can do more as a group, and every one of the other members deserved it. To get it is very humbling. By Filla’s reckoning, Fun Daze had another great year. The run/walk was well attended, and the pancake breakfast that followed had very high attendance as well. “The attendance was great, and the money earned should be similar to last year, which was a good year as well,” he said. The Lion of the Year Award went to a 1952 Ford F3 pickup truck. Filla said it reminded him of the truck his grandpa used to drive him around in when he was a boy. Filla said the Lions Club was grateful to the community for the support of this year’s Fun Daze event, and put in a plug for people to get involved in the club. “Being in Lions Club is a great way to help your community,” Filla said.
