Classic 1960 Ford F100 finds 2nd owner - Houston Chronicle

Kevin Coe bought his Ford truck while he was in the Air Force and finished the rebuild in his retirement. , when he first laid eyes on his classic Ford truck. When a farmer pulled into the parking lot with this 1960 Ford F100 pick up, Coe couldn't help but stare. After a bit, they became friends and it wasn't long until Coe would make regular trips to visit his elderly friend out on his farm. The farmer told Coe stories about buying the truck brand new in 1960. It had been a good year on the farm, and he purchased the brand new truck for $1,600. Coe once offered the farmer $1,000 for the truck, and the farmer initially agreed, but when... The farmer finally was ready to let it go and wanted Coe to buy the truck for $1,500 and become its second owner. Coe made the trip a month later when he was booked to take a training course not too far away in Wichita Falls. The farmer made Coe promise to restore the truck, and not to chop it or hot rod it.
