Roland Legge (Formula 3), Luis Leeds (Formula Ford), Ben Grice (Super Six) and Mark Laucke (Sports Racer) were the other big winners in a sensational day of highly competitive racing. RYAN SIMPSON won the 40-lap Jim Richards endurance trophy race at Queensland Raceway on Saturday evening but all eyes at the venue werent on the affable Sydneysider and his blue and white Porsche GT3 Car. Instead they were focussed on the battle for third place between James Abela and Jon McCorkindale the fight for the Jim Richards Enduro crown. The pair ran third and fourth for the entire race but in the closing stages McCorkindale closed on his young rival, the pair literally bumper to bumper in the final five laps. Dylan OKeefe led early before being hunted down by Simpson in the early running, ultimately running much of the race in a comfortable second place.
