Al Goto has returned to Colorado. readers may recall the June 25 column urging help in the Return Al Goto to Colorado effort. Through the efforts of team members in California and Colorado, he was able to return to Denver on July 21. The team was very concerned about the fragility of his health, so he was accompanied on his flight from California by a registered nurse... com and transported from DIA to Holly Heights Care Center by A1 Non-Emergency Medical Transport. Frisco friend Bill Hyde went ahead to Holly Heights to make sure they were ready to receive Al, who was very excited to be back home in Denver and had Bill take him out for a midnight hamburger the very first night. Al is settling in and the team has been working hard to get all the loose ends tied up, such as:. • getting a Colorado ID was quick (kudos to DMV for letting folks in wheelchairs go to the head of the line). • getting his Medicaid application completed with all the various required tasks was a much longer effort. Bill gave a special thanks to Patricia Cook at the Colorado Gerontological Society for her vast knowledge and experience in the Medicaid application process and many other areas. “Not to be forgotten are the wonderful people who donated money to the team to help make this possible and the fantastic Return Al team members who were so generous with their time,” he adds. Al may be contacted at Holly Heights Care Center, 6000 E Iliff Ave. Source: www.summitdaily.com
