Kidnapping suspect returned to Alice - Alice Echo-News Journal

Alice police officers issued an Amber Alert for Nicolas Gomez after his mother, Nelda Baker reported Galbraith had taken the child after an argument on Wednesday evening. The suspect was arrested on the 3700 block of Staples Street in Corpus Christi at a Family Dollar Store after the alert was issued by Alice Police Department. Galbraith was arrested on a warrant for kidnapping the child. The mother told officers Galbraith had been her boyfriend and acquaintance the last three or four years. Galbraith was found driving a 2009 white, four-door Dodge Avenger. According to CCPD's report, at 12:08 p. m. , an employee at a local business on the 4000 block of Weber Road called CCPD to report she had seen the (Dodge Avenger) in the parking lot. Officers arrived at the scene Thursday just as the vehicle was exiting the parking lot. They stopped the car and took Galbraith into custody in the parking lot of Fire Station 7. An investigator with Alice PD traveled to Corpus Christi to interview the suspect and the boy, Childers said. Source: www.alicetx.com
