” The print advertising of Ford’s 1957 Ranchero played up the fact that this car served a dual purpose. The Ford Ranchero was a coupe utility vehicle produced between 1957 and 1979. It was adapted from a two-door station wagon platform that then integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body. The Ford Ranchero sold well enough to gain a competitor from General Motors in 1959, the Chevrolet El Camino. Earl Bodine, of Lima, brought his 1957 Ford Ranchero to the Westgate Charity Car Show.
