CEDAR LAKE | This year’s Cedar Lake Summerfest Charity Car, Truck and Cycle Show featured 115 vehicles, including a flying saucer driven from Indianapolis. The winner of this year’s Hometown Hero’s Trophy, awarded to a military veteran, is Paul Mathes, of Kouts, with a white-and-green 1957 Ford Ranchero. The winner of the Director’s Choice award is Bob Warnzyniak, of Crown Point, with a satin black 1939 Custom Rat Chevy Truck that caught the eye of Louise Roys, car show chairman. Best of Show Buick - Gene Souther, of Lowell, first place, 1941 black Buick Spec. Best of Show Caddy- Raymond Hammar, of Cedar Lake, first place, 1978 Eldorado. Best of Show Camaro - Wally Woldt, of Schererville, first place, blue 1969 S. S. Ken Hawa, of Cedar Lake, second place, 2000 red Z28. Best of Show Chevelle - Bill Missal, of Cedar Lake, first place, 1969 Yenko. Bob Sullivan, of Crown Point, second place, pearl red 1966 Chevelle.
