1969 Chevy ElCamino - Lima Ohio

CELINA — The name, El Camino, means ‘the road’ or ‘the path’ in Spanish. Chevy introduced the El Camino in 1959 in response to the success of the Ford Ranchero. Production started again for the model year 1964, and the El Camino was based on the Chevelle platform. Although it is based on Chevy car lines, the vehicle is classified and titled as a truck. Chevy made the El Camino longer in 1968, and it was then based on the Chevelle station wagon/four door sedan wheelbase. For the first time, the Chevrolet 350 V9 was used in an El Camino. There were 48,385 El Camino’s sold in 1969. Jerry Downey, of Celina brought his 1969 Chevy El Camino to the Westgate Charity Car Show. Source: limaohio.com
