Rare Car Up for Auction in Centre Hall - WTAJ

CENTRE HALL, CENTRE COUNTY - One Centre County town is generating a lot of buzz, all thanks to a car. The 1969 Shelby Mustang GT-500 is an original survivor, even down to the 1973 inspection sticker. "It looks like new and it's beautiful," Ronald Gilligan, of Ronald Gilligan Auctioneering, said. In fact, Gilligan said this car has gotten so much attention, his website crashed from the sheer number of page views. With just over 8,500 miles, Gilligan said it's likely one of the lowest-milaged survivor models of its kind that's out there and it's for sale. "This car has been folklore in Centre Hall for 40 years," he said. "I think, comfortably, the car would be in the $100,000 to $200,000 range," he said. "This could be the highest priced 1969 GT-500 to ever get sold. Its original owner, Larry Brown, bought this car new in 1969 for $5,000. "It's very exciting," Gilligan said. "I'm just as excited to see how the Ford Ranchero sells the 1974 van that only has 500 miles. "I don't think any of us involved ever thought it would get to the point where it's gone nationwide like it has," Gilligan said. Source: www.wearecentralpa.com
