This is an original 1940 Ford Front Sway Bar. Good looking condition, some normal wear, would need new rubber-see photos. The two end parts that mount to the perch are stuck-should free up with a good soak-maybe some heat. Correct for '40 Ford passenger cars. Could also be used on '37-39 Ford passenger cars and '37-41 Ford 1/2 ton pickups but would need the correct perches to mount properly-see last photo for reference.
