No Interviews! No Practice! Miles explains his stance - Shreveport Times

BATON ROUGE – LSU football coach Les Miles believes he has the horses this season, but they are young and unsettled in the starting gate. This is why he has closed practices completely to the media earlier than in any of his 11 seasons and why his players have been available for interviews significantly less than in previous years. “It’s just that I’m guiding a thoroughbred, and I want it to be focused at the finish line,” Miles said Friday when asked about his new harder line stance toward limiting media access. He did not last season as a freshman, but he may well contend for it this season. He has not done any interviews since attending Southeastern Conference Media Days last month. Sophomore quarterback Brandon Harris, who is currently considered first team, has done many more long-winded interviews than games he has started so far. Junior Anthony Jennings, who started 12 of 13 games at quarterback last season, has also not been available for interviews since spring drills. “I don’t want a conversation (in a player interview) that might lead to another comment or something. Both quarterbacks struggled at playing football at times last season. Source: www.shreveporttimes.com
