The trunk lid pull down motor assembly was pulled from a 1999 Cadillac DeVille.  The assembly was used on multiple Cadillac models from 1989 to 2002, Buick and Oldsmobile from 1989 to 1996, and Chevrolet Corvette Convertible from 2005 to 2013 .
The unit has been stripped down, cleaned, lubricated, re-assembled, and thoroughly tested.
Tests included:With the actuator switch paddle in its up position, and the trunk lid latch switch open, the striker moved from its lowest to its highest position, and rested there. With the actuator switch paddle in its up position, and the trunk lid latch switch closed, the striker moved from its highest to its lowest position, reversed direction at the bottom, moved to its highest position, reversed direction at the top, and continued to cycle and reverse. With the actuator switch paddle in its down position, and the trunk lid latch switch closed, the striker moved from its highest to its lowest position, then rested there. The motor drew electric current while moving the striker between its high and low positions, but drew no electric current with the striker resting at its high or low positions. The Trunk Ajar output connector remained grounded when either the actuator switch paddle was in its up position, or the striker was in its up position, or both were up - indicating that the trunk was ajar. The Trunk Ajar output connector moved to open circuit when both the actuator switch paddle, and the striker were in their down position - indicating that the trunk was closed.
The motor assembly tested perfect and performed smoothly.
