Border Patrol agents in Laredo, seize hundreds of pounds of drugs in two separate cases. On Monday, they found six people smuggling 362 pounds of marijuana into the U. S. at the Laredo North station. And Tuesday, agents pulled over a Ford Taurus in the mines road area. The driver refused to stop, but later the driver did stop and ran away. Laredo police took custody of the subject, vehicle and marijuana. Border Patrol agents from the Laredo Sector encounter narcotics in two separate cases. On August 17, 2015, agents assigned to the Laredo North Station observed 6 subjects attempting to smuggle bundles of marijuana into the United States while working their assigned duties. On August 18, agents assigned to the Laredo North Station attempted to make a vehicle stop on a Ford Taurus in the Mines Road area. The vehicle initially failed to yield but later exited the roadway where the driver absconded and the passenger was apprehended with the assistance of the Laredo Police Department. The Laredo Police Department took custody of the subject, vehicle and marijuana. The Laredo Border Patrol Sector is part of the Joint Task Force-West South Texas Corridor, which leverages federal, state and local resources to combat transnational criminal organizations.
