Fortunately, the storm served mostly to wash down the streets and keep temperatures in the balmy range, and to show that the Wichita area car community can’t be kept at home when there are good times to be had. Rick Nuckolls, one of the founders of the BlackTop Nationals, finished his amazing 1939 Cadillac V-16 just hours before putting it on display inside Century II. One of only 18 built, the car features gorgeous leather and cloth upholstery by... Jay Leno persuaded the New Jersey owner of the car to donate it to the McPherson College Auto Restoration Program, where Nuckolls spotted it and eventually worked a deal to buy it and restore it.
