Here are the crime reports for Canyon Country East, Canyon Country West, Newhall, Saugus and Stevenson Ranch. An assault with a deadly weapon occurred outside of a business near the 18200 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country. The suspect was observed by a loss prevention agent selecting items and then exiting the location without making any attempt to pay for the store merchandise. When confronted, the suspect ran from the location, dropping his cell phone in the process. When the suspect returned to recover his cell phone, he was detained and arrested upon the arrival of deputies. A petty theft occurred at a business near the 19300 block of Golden Valley Rd. , Canyon Country. While conducting store video surveillance of the sales floor, the store manager observed the suspect exit the store with unpaid store merchandise. The suspect was detained by store loss prevention and arrested upon the arrival of deputies.
