Mom dies after she's ejected from 'drunk' boyfriend's SUV - New York Post

“She was a good girl, my daughter,” 29-year-old Danielle Aronsen’s dad, Scott, told The Post as he broke down in tears outside his family’s Sunset Park home. Aronsen, 29, and her longtime boyfriend, Andrew Berkowitz, 35, were already tipsy by the time they walked into the Bean Post Pub in Bay Ridge Thursday night, law-enforcement sources said. The couple, who share a 2-year-old son named Andrew, started bickering after they left the watering hole at about 11:30 p. m. — and Aronsen climbed into the back seat of their 2002 GMC Envoy, according to sources. Berkowitz didn’t stop when she flew out of the car and instead sped off around the block before retuning to the scene a few minutes later, law-enforcement sources said. Aronsen was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 2:54 a. m. Her boyfriend, who refused a Breathalyzer test at the scene, was arrested when he showed up at the hospital, according to law-enforcement sources. Berkowitz was slapped with charges including manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. He told cops at the scene the rear door wasn’t working properly, but authorities deemed it to be in good order, sources said. Source: nypost.com
