A merger between Lawrenceville’s Gwinnett Medical Center and Northside Hospital is being negotiated. Northside Hospital CEO Bob Quattrocchi and Gwinnett Medical Center CEO Phil Wolfe released statements saying they are targeting early 2016 as a potential closing date for the deal. Northside operates hospitals in Canton and Cumming as well as its flagship hospital in Sandy Springs, which it says delivers more babies than any other U. S. hospital and performs the most surgeries in Georgia. Gwinnett Medical operates hospitals in Lawrenceville and Duluth. The two organizations will begin conducting due diligence and planning activities, and if a final definitive agreement is reached, the proposed transaction will be submitted to the State of Georgia Office of the Attorney General for review and...
