Nearly 20,000 people touched down in beautiful Burbank for the 4th Downtown Burbank Car Classic on Saturday. Highlights of the fest always include vehicles from film and TV. this year didn’t disappoint with the 1999 Mach 5 Speed Racer Prototype that served as the model for the ’60s-era Speed Racer cartoon, as well as the 2008 live-action film. The souped-up 2001 Honda S2000 from 2 Fast 2 Furious was also in attendance, as well as the 1998 Volkswagen Beetle “Shagmobile” from the second Austin Powers film. Many of the cars, including the celluloid vehicles, were donated by the Petersen Automotive Museum and the Television Motion Picture Car Club, while many of the custom vehicles were loaned from West Coast Customs.
