NHTSA starts probe into 2008 Honda Accord Airbag controller - PC-Tablet

safety regulators have started an investigation into air bag issues on Honda Motor Co’s 2008 Accord Sedans. The issue is different from the of combustible air bag inflators made by Takata Corp in Honda vehicles. This time the issue is about a module that controls deployment of the air bag. A filing by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that erroneous air bag control module can prevent the deployment of the air bags in a crash. If the NHTSA finds fault in the air bags, 384,000 of the 2008 Accord sedans in the United States will have to be recalled.
