Fifth rollover crash in August - News Item

State police said Ryan P. Bordell, 26, of Paxinos, was driving too fast for conditions when he cut a curve too sharply, struck an embankment and rolled his 2003 GMC Envoy at around 3:45 p. m. Tuesday on Shamrock Road in Shamokin Township. He was taken to Geisinger Medical Center by Elysburg Ambulance with minor injuries and was not admitted. Though shortly before Bordell's accident a light rain had fallen on Shamrock Road, leaving its snaking curves slick, the other four accidents occurred on dry roads. 3, 31-year-old Brian K. Shawda was ejected from his Hyundai Elantra after he struck a cement divider on Route 61 and rolled over. Police said a deer caused a 16-year-old girl from Elysburg to crash her 1993 Jeep Wrangler on Stoney Lane Friday. After she swerved to avoiding striking the deer, she careened down a 10-foot embankment before rolling over and coming to rest right-side up. She was uninjured. The following afternoon, Ryan J. Little, 18, of Elysburg, struck a ditch and rolled his 2011 Ford Focus less than three miles away on Bear Hollow Road, Elysburg. At around 3:45 p. m. Monday, Clinton Geist, 32, of Shamokin, rolled his 2004 Honda CR-V while travelling along Irish Valley Road. State police said he was cited for driving too fast for conditions. Source: newsitem.com
