The '05-and-up Tacoma uses a coil-on-shock IFS front suspension and a leaf-spring rear suspension. We opted for Skyjacker's Platinum Series coilover conversion kit (p/n TC530KS-H), which replaces the factory front shocks and coils as well as the leaf springs. The front coilovers are adjustable so you can select from 2 to 3 inches of lift, and the kit includes top shock brackets that are state-of-the-art and allow each coilover to pivot smoothly without binding through the suspension cycle. In the rear, the new springs have one more leaf than stock and provide 1. 5 to 2 inches of lift. Here's a rundown of the major components and how the kit works. Our Tacoma came from the factory with P265/65R17 (30. 5-inch-diameter) Bridgestone Dueler H/T tires, and we fitted the truck with LT285/70R17 (32. 7-inch-diameter) Fierce Attitude M/T tires on 17x8. 5 Fuel Octane wheels with 41/2 inches of... This combination, along with the lift, improved our front fascia-to-ground measurement from 17 inches to 21 inches and the rear hitch-to-ground measurement from 161/2 inches to 19 inches. In stock form, we measured an approach angle of 33 degrees and a departure angle of 20 degrees. After the install, approach angle jumped to 42 degrees and departure angle to 25 degrees. SEATTLE (AP) — Nervous at the start, Jake Lamb coolly helped deliver a winning finish to his first major league game back in his hometown. Lamb's sacrifice fly in the 10th inning scored Paul Goldschmidt with the go-ahead run, and the Arizona Diamondbacks pulled out a 4-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday night. Lamb, a Seattle native who played collegiately at Washington, left 50 tickets for family and estimated he had 90 total supporters in the stands at Safeco Field to see his first professional game at home. "I was pretty nervous that first inning, but after that first (at-bat) I took some good pitches, got the walk and that kind of locked me in," Lamb said. Goldschmidt continued his stellar season with his 22nd home run in the first inning off Seattle starter Mike Montgomery. Castle Rock police arrest suspect in violent Denver carjacking - The Denver Post

Castle Rock police on Tuesday morning arrested a 35-year-old man suspected of stabbing a motorist during a Denver carjacking, according to Denver police. The suspect, Joshua Lane, was arrested as he slept in the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store at 80 Plum Creek Parkway. Castle Rock police commander Jason Lyons told 7News that police were told not to use their sirens when approaching the truck so they wouldn't wake the suspect and could maintain the element of surprise. Police say the suspect stole the truck — a black, 2006 four-door Toyota Tacoma — on the 900 block of South Broadway on Monday. Police said the victim was walking to his pickup when he saw a man apparently casing vehicles in the garage and confronted him. The suspect stabbed the victim and stole his truck. The final persuit, which started about 4:30 p. m. , ended after a patrol was involved in a crash with two vehicles near Alameda and South Moline, Aurora police told 7News.
