This particular example was ordered through Paul Greier Porsche in Germany in Grand Prix White over a very bright Can-Can Red and the Turbo Look Supersport package, which meant a wider body , stiffer suspension and the brakes from the Turbo model. This example received its first service in July of 1987 showing 382 kilometers, which is about half of its present kilometrage, at the same dealer in Germany where it was ordered. By July of 1990, the Porsche was showing a whopping 422 kilometers, which sounds like the drive home from the dealer the last time around. A further 160 kilometers would be accumulated between July of 1990 and September of 1992, the equivalent of several millenia when it comes to suit styles. Just as shoulder pads were going out of style, this Porsche was finally given a break from its busy days and retired to a garage. The Porsche was recently reanimated and recommissioned at a cost of £4,120 by UK Porsche specialist Autofarm. Silverstone doesn't state just what kind of work was performed to bring it back to life -- hopefully more than just fluids and perfunctory services -- but that it will be offered with its service books and tools. The Turbo has got the looks too – the aggressive styling of the 996 Turbo has aged well, and it really looks the part. As 930 and 993 Turbos disappear into the value stratosphere, the 996 is currently a car to buy. The early 1600 Alfa Romeo Duettos are delightful cars – beautifully styled, a lovely twin-cam engine and delicate handling, just perfect for a bit of summer romance. They’ve hovered around the £20k–£25k mark for quite a long time, but a good, early, matching-numbers car will definitely be a car to hang onto, though they require decent and regular maintenance. A real Q car with decent accommodation for four adults. Crucially, though, the early cars have the right name – some legendary cars have carried the 365 badge – and it’s a pukka, front-engined V12 from the classic Ferrari GT car era.
