Physically, the Grand Caravan has retained the same boxy shape for seven or more years, although a significant revision for 2011 included a 283-horsepower 3. 6-liter V-6. It replaced the previous 3. 3- and 3. 8-liter V-6s that made 175 and 197... But if there’s one word that best describes the GC, it would be versatility. After landing his 8th pole position of the year, with another great lap on the hard tyre, Mostert would lead from virtually start to finish to win his first 200km race of the season. At the start of the race, it was an all Prodrive front row, as Winterbottom qualified second behind his team-mate. Lowndes lost position to his team-mate Whincup but gained the position back on lap 5. He would then overtake Winterbottom in the first round of pit stops. On lap 14 and 15, when Mostert and Lowndes pitted, they would both come out in front of Winterbottom by putting in less fuel and using their track position to gain an advantage. These positions would not change for the rest of the race as Mostert and Lowndes moved away from Winterbottom. When the final stops occurred between lap 30 and 37, all drivers went back onto the soft tyres, and were able to make them last for the rest of the race. David Reynolds, who moved to 4th early and stayed in that position, had a very uneventful race as he took some big points for the race. Can the 2011 Nissan Quest take a similar place in our cultural panoply, making the minivan cool. Despite its name, which puts one in mind of far-ranging adventures that might include golden chalices and desperate damsels, the Quest lacks the quality of uniqueness enjoyed by that earlier Volkswagen bus. Similar to its brethren, the Quest is a lumbering box on wheels, but it does manage a win on design. From how the headlight casings and grille fit together with jigsaw precision to a clean line down the side, ending up at the massive refrigeratorlike rear, the Quest employs a cohesive look. Power sliding doors are an upscale minivan standard, and found on the Quest in its SL trim. Middle-row captain's chairs are suitable for adults, with a wide bench in the third row for the kids. Add to that a sizable well hidden under the cargo floor, a smuggler's hole if you like, and the Quest does not lack for carrying capacity. Minivans put as much focus on rear-seat comfort as a stretch limousine, in order to keep the kids quiet on long trips. Here the Quest struggles to keep up with the competition. Source: www.cnet.com
