State Police seize 507 grams of heroin, arrest two Providence men - WPRI 12 Eyewitness News

PROVIDENCE, R. I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island State Police announced that two Providence men were arrested Thursday after police seized oxycodone pills, marijuana, and a combined 507 grams of heroin in separate investigations. While questioning Medrano, troopers “observed several indicators that Mr. Medrano was possibly involved in the transportation of narcotics,” police said. The troopers searched Medrano’s vehicle and seized approximately 400 grams of heroin and 796 oxycodone pills, which were 30 milligrams each. State Police estimated the street value of the pills and heroin to be approximately $44,000. Medrano was arraigned in Third Division District Court on charges of possession with intent to deliver heroin and oxycodone, and driving while in... Thursday, another Providence resident was also arrested in an unrelated investigation – Freddy Caba, 25, was also charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin and marijuana. 911 Call – Franklin Avenue – A resident of Pinnellas Florida expressed concern for a Nutley resident who expressed wanting to harm themself over a Facebook post. Police were able to locate the party in question who explained to police that they were just concerned about an upcoming surgical procedure and that the statement was taken out of text. Theft – A resident reported that the electrical ground cable had been cut from their meter. Dog Bite – Spurr Place – A delivery person delivering Chinese food was bitten by the customer’s dog while making a delivery. General investigation – Franklin Avenue – Police were called to a Franklin Avenue location when a caller reported a child left in a vehicle. Fraud – The victim of fraud responded to headquarters to report that they received a call from their bank reporting that there was a purchase from Apple Pay. The victim’s social security number was attached to the charge causing the victim to be concerned and was entered into a FBI theft file. When police arrived they found a woman residing within the house claiming the home had been previously damaged. Source: patch.com
