1993 Toyota Supra From "The Fast and the Furious" Heads to Auction - Motor Trend

The Toyota FT-1 Concept Previews Return of Supra" target="_blank">Supra is featured throughout most of the film, which means it saw a lot of action throughout the course of the movie. The Toyota Supra was powered by a standard 220-hp 3. 0-liter 2JZ inline-six engine or a 320-hp twin-turbo 3. 0-liter inline-six on the Turbo model. As shown in the film and the photos below, this particular Supra didn't feature the twin-turbo engine under the hood. This definitely is not the car that was shown in the close shots, as that one was fitted with turbos, intercooler, and a really large tach on the dash. This one Is most likely the one used for the stunt driving shots as it has a minimal interior and beefier rollbar, which weren't shown during the build phase in the movie. That being said, it is almost guaranteed that this car was never driven by Paul Walker and was driven by a stunt double, or not driven at all, during the movie. It's essentially a clone car, not the original featured and certainly not worth more than $15k. When you look at Toyota's current crop of vehicles, it becomes quite depressing to realize they once made interesting, sporty cars. The ten 90s Japanese sports cars that absolutely need to make a triumphant return The 1990s are fondly remembered by many for teal and pink nylon jumpsuits, the Backstreet Boys, and Bill Nye the Science Guy, among many other wonderful things. But here at the Daily News Autos, most of our nostalgia is for the golden age of the Japanese sports car. The 1990s were the peak for Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Mazda, with a myriad of sports cars and European giant-slayers to choose from, many of which were affordable to the working class speed junkie. The S2000, released in 1999, was a bit of a swansong for the Japanese sports cars we knew and loved, with the only modern carryovers being the Mazda MX-5 Miata and the Scion FR-S /Subaru BRZ, among few others. 3-liter twin-sequential turbo rotary engine putting out 255-hp, Mazda’s iconic sports car was named Motor Trend’s Import Car of the Year for 1993, back when they used to separate American and foreign car awards. Report: Nissan may produce NISMO edition of Navara pickup - eGMCarTech

Australia’s CarAdvice reports that Nissan may produce a NISMO version of its new Navara midsize pickup. Now the Navara may not exactly be the next-generation Frontier for our shores, but it’ll be based on the Navara and should be pretty damn close, especially when they’re paying close attention to GM’s latest moves with the midsize pickup market. While there maybe a Navara NISMO edition according to CarAdvice, at least for foreign markets, this could possibly hint at a new NISMO version of the Frontier when it gets replaced in the near-future. The Navaro’s influence on the next-gen Frontier could be hinted by recent words from NISMO’s global boss of sales and marketing, Darren Cox, who said: “In terms of product we need to be credible, a pickup would be a massive seller for Nissan all... “NISMO has to be a credible production car from Nissan that’s sporty and therefore we study the implications of that, a pickup could be an interesting product because of its global nature when we go into other markets.
