Pedestrian struck on Broadway, police continue to investigate - The Saratogian

, while Keohane was crossing Broadway. Initial police interviews showed that Keohane was crossing Broadway from near Caroline Street. As he was crossing the street, he was struck by a sedan traveling northbound on Broadway. According to one witness, the sedan pulled over to the side of the road after hitting Keohane, but then drove off in an unknown direction. The caller had been working in the Broadway area during the initial investigation and had a general idea of what had taken place, but had not witnessed the accident itself. The worker asked if police were looking for a vehicle in regards to the accident, and officers told him yes. He informed the police that there was a gray sedan parked on Van Rensselaer Street with significant front-end damage that looked fresh. Source: www.saratogian.com

Every once in a while a new contender steps up its game and pushes the rest to follow. For this reason, I jumped at the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the new 2015 Mazda 6 for a week to put it through its paces. From virtually every angle, this car looks to punch above its weight, so it’s not hard to see why I award the Mazda 6 – 6 out of 5 stars. From the outside looking in, there is no doubt that this is among the best looking vehicles on the road. It has more refined lines than the capable Toyota Camry and more sophistication than the ho-hum Honda Accord. Not that there’s anything bad with either of these contenders, but in the looks department Mazda got it right. What they call “ Kodo design ” is alive and well, and it now carries through the entire lineup of Mazda vehicles, including the hotly anticipated Mazda MX-5. One can clearly see the shared heritage, and luckily the Mazda 6 shares some lines with... More than once I let myself linger on the outside, just to check it out for a while, before I climbed in drove away. After more than 30 years of writing auto reviews, I find it hard to understand why Mazda doesn't sell a lot more cars. The midsize Mazda6 is sporty looking, handles well, provides a comfortable ride with good power and extremely good fuel economy. Yet Toyota's Camry and Honda's Accord, among others, outsell the Mazda6 regularly, and have for years. But if you're looking for a midsize family car with more pizazz, then the Mazda6 should be dead center on your radar. I drove a sharp-looking Blue Reflex (light silvery blue) Grand Touring model. That's almost exactly the average selling price for a new vehicle these days. Mazda uses what it calls SkyActiv-G technology in its 2. 5-liter 4-cylinder engines and with its 6-speed automatic transmissions. for this model) and using higher compression, direct-injection and variable valve timing to run its engines more efficiently, the Mazda6 delivers 184 horsepower along with stellar fuel economy. 4 mpg while the EPA rates the Mazda6 at 28 mpg city and 40 mpg highway. Some midsize cars offer more pep, usually via a V6 or turbocharged I4.
