When the original Lexus RX was introduced it ushered in the premium SUV age. The second-generation arrived in 2004. It not only brought a stronger look and larger dimensions, it brought a bigger engine that consumed less fuel. It also boasted a first — it was the first time a Lexus had been built outside of Japan. Riding on a long 2,715 millimetre wheelbase (up 100-mm over the previous RX), the 330 was also 30-mm wider and 10-mm taller. Head over here for the original Lexus RX 330 listing we’re featuring. Standard features included the usual power toys along with heated power leather front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a decent sound system with eight speakers, power tilt/telescopic steering wheel adjustment, cruise control, tasteful... It also brought dual front and side seat-mounted air bags, drop-down side curtains and a knee airbag for the driver. The full-zoot ultra-premium package added everything from a power moonroof, HID headlights and rain-sensing wipers to a full navigation system, rear entertainment system and a Mark Levinson sound system. Unmistakably Lexus, in and out, the new RX makes a strong visual first impression. The sharp front end has been updated with a signature black Lexus bold grille with a chrome trim. Redesigned fog lights with a chrome-trimmed triangular bezel integrate neatly with the grille, giving the RX a sharp, angular look that screams Lexus. The swooping roofline ties it all together to give the RX a modern, sharp and aggressive stance. The rear end maintains the sharp and aggressive character with blacked out C-pillars and L-shaped wraparound taillights give the RX a wider looking rear end. Chrome tipped dual exhaust tips, a black rear fascia with chrome insert adds a little bit of contrast to highlight the sharp angles and edges. Could the dashboard in your vehicle be melting away. AAA spokesperson Clay Ingram said it could be a growing problem for some drivers. Hopefully it's something they can figure out and get resolved very quickly," Ingram said. Lawsuits are being filed across the country while others have voiced complaints about Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infiniti and Mazda vehicles to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). "The dashboard is beginning to degrade and become glossy and highly sticky to the touch. There are dashboard mats available but Ingram isn't sure the quick fix is worth it. He said if you think your vehicle may have the problem, head to the dealership. "If it were me I would want my dash repaired or replaced its like putting a seat cover on a damaged seat," he said. There is now a 10-year extended warranty for 4. 5 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles with melting dashboards. "In response to customer concerns, we are enhancing warranty coverage to provide complete relief for Toyota and Lexus owners whose dashboards and front and interior door panels may have been damaged by high heat and humidity over time," Toyota...
