For example, if you ask me to pay $89,000 for an automobile, I expect it to have everything — the latest safety equipment, best onboard communications and entertainment systems, all-wheel drive, and an engine, transmission and suspension that turn... The 2015 Jaguar XJL Portfolio sedan lives up to my expectations, almost. Jaguar is an old-world company, a masterful purveyor of old-world charm and luxury, a onetime British entity now owned by a scion of the former British Empire, India’s Tata Motors Ltd. The problem: Technological progress has rendered old-world charm obsolete — or, at the very least, distressingly dated — and thereby raises a real question about its actual value. Look at the Jaguar XJL, the “L” indicating that the car is the long-wheelbase version of the Jaguar XJ sedan. That arrangement would be ideal for busy executives who could be back there working while being chauffeured about in their more-plush-than-thou XJL Portfolio. Except, well, the XJL Portfolio does not have a WiFi hotspot to effectively use those laptops. That, arguably, is a minor thing, and it probably would not have occurred to me were I not able to park, fire up my Toshiba and work from the comfort of almost any 2015 model Chevrolet vehicle thanks to the inclusion of an onboard AT&T 4G LTE WiFi...
