(AP) — A Walmart manager and his daughter were arrested Wednesday in connection with an investigation into a theft at a northeastern Oklahoma Walmart store in which a man disguised as an armored truck driver walked out with more than $75,000.... Authorities said the suspect entered the Walmart store in Bristow about 10:30 a. m. Saturday, walked to the cash office, signed for the deposit and walked out of the store. Bristow Police Chief Wayne Williams has said the unidentified suspect was dressed similarly to a Loomis armored truck driver. Walmart employees called police after the real Loomis employee arrived about 45 minutes later. Authorities in northeast Oklahoma have received some anonymous tips about the identity of the suspect whose image was captured by a video surveillance camera. Williams has said investigators do not believe the suspect lives in the area and have no evidence he ever worked for an armored transportation service. Source: wane.com

Funeral held for stranded man who died in back country - fox5sandiego.com

— Funeral services were held Friday for an Orange County man found dead in a car in a remote area near Warner Springs in San Diego County two weeks after he and his wife went missing after setting out on a trip to the Valley View Casino. Services for Cecil “Paul” Knutson, an ex-Marine, were held at Ingold Funeral Chapel in the San Bernardino County city of Fontana, followed by burial with full military honors at Riverside National Cemetery. Knutson, 79, and his wife of 27 years, Dianna Bedwell Knutson, 68, went missing after leaving the Valley View Casino in Valley Center on Mother’s Day. Their 2014 white Hyundai Sonata was spotted two weeks later in a gully off a dirt road at the Lost Valley Boy Scouts Camp in a little-traveled section of Los Coyotes Indian Reservation. His wife was alive, but was severely dehydrated, a private investigator for the family said. Bedwell Knutson was initially admitted to an intensive care unit at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. We spent a week with the Sonata Sport, a four-door sedan with the Sonata series’ most powerful engine, a 2-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder motor, pumping out 245 horsepower, driven through a six-speed automatic transmission. There’s nothing really flashy about these cars and they end up doing the day-in, day-out chores most of us do in our cars. Revisions over the years brought change – the car actually got ugly, epitomized by the stodgy facelifts of the fourth and fifth generation in the early 2000s. Things made an abrupt and wild improvement with the sixth generation, introduced as a... This was the car that sets the tone for current Sonatas, including our 2015 Sport model, which we found fit us pretty well. As scheduling would have it, we got the Sonata only two weeks after playing with a new (second-generation) Hyundai Genesis, the company’s near-luxury sedan, second only to the Equus. The Sonata fared well, in comparison, especially when you consider that our optioned-up Sonata had a sticker price of $34,460, some $15,000 less than the Genesis. Source: blog.sfgate.com
