Virginia State Police say a 2007 Hyundai Elantra crossed the center line and hit a 2005 Volvo head-on just before 9 a. m. Wednesday. The Volvo's driver, 28-year-old Sara Thaw of Bumpass, is being treated at the University of Virginia Medical Center for serious injuries. Police say a 1-year-old that was in the Volvo was not injured, and that both drivers were wearing seat belts. Louisa County- One man was killed following a two vehicle crash on Wednesday (August 12) in Louisa County. The crash occurred around 8:45 a. m. , on Belle Meade Road, three-quarters of a mile north of Sign Board Road. The trooper’s investigation revealed that a 2007 Hyundai Elantra was traveling north on Belle Meade Road when it crossed over into the south bound lane striking a 2005 Volvo head-on. The driver of the 2005 Volvo, Sara D. Thaw, 28 of Bumpass, Virginia was transported to UVA Hospital via med-flight with serious injuries. The driver of the 2007 Hyundai Elantra, Michael S. Phillips, 18 of Bumpass, Virginia died at the scene. The Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction team is assisting with the crash which remains under investigation. Source: www.nbc29.com

James Peterson, 56, was driving a motorcycle west on SD 244. He lost control of his motorcycle while entering a gradual curve. The motorcycle left the roadway and struck a rock outcropping. Peterson was not wearing a helmet. The crash was reported at 8:59 p. m. ---. At 12:38 p. m. Saturday, SD 79, mm 121, seven miles north of Sturgis, Larry Kaduce, 57, St. Peter, MN, was driving a motorcycle northbound on SD 79 when he attempted to pass two pickups pulling campers. Kaduce was separated from his motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. , on Alkali Road, Buffalo Chip Entrance, Evan Marshall, 31, Houston, TX was driving a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup that rear-ended two motorcycles. One of the motorcycle drivers, Tyler Hutchison, 33, Lead, SD, received minor injuries. Marshall was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. Marshall was arrested for DUI, possession of a controlled substance and careless driving. , on SD 87, mm 43, Mark London, 60, Barbeton, OH, was driving a motorcycle northbound on SD 87 when he lost control going around a curve and went into the ditch. At 11:24 a. m. , on US 14A, mm 46, seven miles west of Sturgis, Jodi Maradell, 45, Johnstown, CO, was driving a motorcycle eastbound when she failed to negotiate a curve. PHOENIX - The Phoenix Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who they believe stole a credit card from inside a home and used it at a local convenience store. Officials said the victim's credit card was used at a Quik Trip near Cave Creek and Bell roads around 5:30 a. m. that same day. The man police are looking for is between the ages of 35 and 40, weighs 175 to 190 pounds, and is between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall.
